About Jacquelyn, Founder of Gentle Gut Nutrition

Welcome to Gentle Gut Nutrition! I’m Jacquelyn Ehmer, a Registered Dietitian with a clear mission: to introduce a gentler approach to gut health, IBS, and SIBO, where we can emphasize habits that support your digestive wellness while also fostering a peaceful relationship with food and our bodies.

“I know firsthand what it's like to feel overwhelmed and frustrated by digestive issues. My own experience with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) and an eating disorder led me to reevaluate not just my health, but the way I viewed food and my body. After years of struggling with digestive symptoms like bloating, fatigue, and abdominal pain, and multiple rounds of antibiotics + elimination diets, I realized the importance of taking a gentle, sustainable approach to healing, one that doesn’t involve extreme restrictions or harmful dieting.”

I knew I needed to change my approach. That realization led me to make a life-changing decision: I decided to leave my corporate career behind and go back to school to become a Registered Dietitian. In my training to become a dietitian, I saw that many approaches to gut health, particularly for conditions like SIBO and IBS, were based on extreme diets and temporary fixes. These methods often focused on eliminating entire food groups or using supplements that may offer short-term relief but weren’t sustainable in the long run.

“That’s when I created Gentle Gut Nutrition. My vision was is help people with digestive issues like SIBO and IBS take small, practical steps toward healing — without the need for drastic measures. I believe in providing personalized, evidence-based nutrition guidance that supports both your digestive health and your relationship with food.”

I am so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to support you on your own journey to a healthier gut and a peaceful relationship with food!
